The people around you look like they belong to an old civilization. Busily, they work at constructing what appears to be a temple or tomb among the great dunes of this place.[break][break]

When asked, a worker says, "We are creating a great protector. Eons ago, a great star fell from the heavens and landed here. We are finally able to harness its power. Go. Take a look!"[break][break]

You enter the incomplete tomb to see a large chunk of some unknown purple material. Red veins pulse throughout it like blood—or poison. It emanates a great power. Before it, several boulders are set against each other.

One step into this new route and already Xenon hates everything about it as she finds herself in some sort of ancient fucking desert with savages building stone temples for some idiot nobody dead person. The girl scoffs as she crosses her arms and completely ignores all these fake workers building their tomb, walking past them and right up to the strange relic these people worshiped.

And for once Xenon looks at this ancient piece of history with a critical eye, walking around and observing from every angle as she analyzes the situation carefully. It's almost out of character for her to be so quiet around what was very obviously an important historic relic, something that anyone in Rocket would know is antithetical to the future obsessed Ultramodernist. Anyone who had the guts to call Admin Howard a "stupid fucking savage brained moron with maps where his cerebellum should be" very quickly picked up infamy amongst the organization, especially when they got away with it scot free.

So why was Xenon looking at this rock so carefully? Well obviously so she could find just the right angle to KICK IT and knock this entire structure over. "FUCK YOU YOU STUPID FUCKING ROCK!"

The few weeks in between her previous exposure to such advanced technologies and the present felt much longer than it truly had been, though it was also something she dreamed about every night when tucking herself in. Being able to walk without a cane, even in a seemingly artificial world, was something money couldn't buy; just loyalty and curiosity, hand in hand with her newfound open mind. Following in the footsteps of her younger counterpart, walking slowly to feel the breeze of the desert and the fragments of sand, she listened intently to the words of the workers unfurl from their tongues. [break][break]

It was all so cryptic, so before her time, so odd. Eyes met with the pulsating chunk of violet and pulsating veins for a moment, Marilyn soon giggled as the ultramodernist expressed such force upon the boulders. "You heard her, go show the rocks our kind of fuck you," she commanded her Flutter Mane, clasping her hands together, ".. a star from the heavens, harnessing its power. It's so outlandish and crude, a strange thing to wish to covet!" Spurting fire from a manifestation in front of it, the ghost type was quick to release a beam of MYSTICAL FIRE onto the boulders on the other side of the woman as she kicked.[break][break]

She clapped at the sight, the type to play along in all the obscurity presented within the simulation.

The mysterious material pulses and the boulders begin to meld into each other. Life begins to course through the stacked stones. Stony limbs rise and push its heavy monolith of a torso from the ground. It begins to expand in size continuously and pulses with a powerful energy that begins to metamorphose the surrounding rocks and sediment...[break][break]

Before you can witness any more, you must evacuate. A bastardized REGIROCK has been born and is tearing the tomb down with all of you inside of it.

Xenon was immediately of two minds about the old bag that had entered into the RKS System this time around with her.
[break][break]
On the one hand, she was something of a representative of history, someone who had lived through so much of it that it irritated her on a gut level. There wasn't much future left for this woman, her existence was so based in the past that even acknowledging her was like acknowledging history. Generally speaking Xenon just didn't get along with older people, they had a certain kind of personality and reverence for the past that immediately ticked her off. It didn't really help that Marily was releasing one of those god awful Paradox Pokemon from the past, the antithesis of what she liked aesthetically.

But on the other hand, this old lady was kinda rocking it? Like she was giving off a pretty rad vibe, immediately playing along with Xenon's hyperviolence and helping out by destroying the boulders she was kicking. The jury is still out on this one, maybe there really is an exception for every rule.

Speaking of rules, it seems like they had just broken the number 1 rule as that worker from before runs in screaming at them to stop, but the damage was already done. Rocks and boulders meld together into some bizarre golem amalgamation, a being not too dissimilar from the Regice that she had fought against during the events of Mirage Island, but definitely a lot uglier looking. She should be panicking, but instead all Xenon can do is laugh as she releases her Iron Jugulis and hops on, tearing a hole open in the data and pulling Marilyn through with careless abandon. "Woo! That's the good kind of destruction right there, tearing down the past and building something kickass and new in its place!" She roars as she drags the old lady up onto Rhodium's back behind her, at once rough in her handling of the little old lady, yet surprisingly considerate considering she could have just as easily left the woman to die in that collapsing tomb.

The cries of the worker to cease tampering with the boulders had been music to her ears, which she would ignore like a Cutiefly buzzing in the background; it was an ancient version of the youth she grew fond of detesting, just as annoying, just too much. Being in a simulation was a marvel that there were seemingly no consequences for her actions, a fact that appealed to her just below being able to walk and run again effortlessly. It was only fair that she followed suit in the recklessness of her momentary companion, because hell, what was there to lose?[break][break]

Sprouting from the melting, crackling boulders was none other than a monolith, one that had just as many strange eyes as it did strange noises. Before Marilyn could react, before she could promptly command the Flutter Mane to bring it to rubble, the ultramodernist roughly began to pull her up onto the futuristic paradox, bringing her to gasp. "Oh shit, youngin'," she exclaimed, feeling the burning sensation in her glutes, ".. it's all in the knees, it's all in the knees! Arceus, fuckin' christ!" Holding onto the back of the beast, the two had been able to flee just in time, as the rocky creature was tearing it from the inside out. She had no clue what any of this meant, but she initially cheered at the thrill, elderly phlegm bringing it to sound more like a gargle.[break][break]

"Never pull me like that again, fuckin' twit! Have you no manners?" She said as the two advanced through the odd rift, coughing. It hurt a bit less than what she was used to, but it was still just as shocking being manhandled. Though at least she didn't have to go through the hassle of dying and then getting.. rebooted, the kids called it, right? It was a weird feeling, partially grateful and partially disturbed.

He says to you: "fuschia has already fallen. nothing you accomplish here will be of any worth."[break][break]

Should you attempt to step toward him, you'll knock into an invisible wall: an intriguing puzzle for gym challengers, but a frustrating conundrum for those attempting to engage with him.[break][break]

"i'll strike you down before you can even perceive the real me."[break][break]

Suddenly, Walsh disappears. Throughout the gym, multiple "Walshes" appear behind invisible walls. Periodically, he will lunge from a secret space with his GLISCOR, NIDOKING, &/OR HYPNO to attempt to slay you and your Pokemon.

The girl laughs like the maniac she is as they fly out of the tomb, her laughter only growing stronger as the old hag scolds her through her gargling cackle. "You got it crone, next time around I'll be sure to leave you to die!" She shoots back as they dive into their next portion of the simulation, a burning city she was all but too familiar with as they land in the middle of Declan Walsh's gym.

At once a shadow falls over Xenon's face as she scowls at the preprogrammed Rocket leader, ready for his tricks this time as Rhodium's metal body shifts under her. She could surely defeat him this time, she understood his moves well enough, had fought this bastard so many times in this simulation that she could instinctively understand where he would strike from and all of his dumb little invisible walls. And she had the firepower to take him on this time too, it was just a matter of practicing the movements and striking him down where he stood.

But... no, now wasn't the time to kill this simulacra of her boss. She didn't know why quite yet, but she could already tell the path she was on would lead to a dead end if she killed him this time, something about the pathing here was off. This was still just a scouting run for her, this wasn't where she would make the big point of progress she was so desperate for.

"Once he's done monologuing we'll need to survive for 4 minutes and 29 seconds before he lets us go. Follow my lead and he should stay on a predictable path, just don't get too far from me."

All Marilyn could do was roll her eyes at the young woman's response, clearly too exhilarated to have any respect or class when it came to interacting with elders. Though they were both of the same organization and in a simulated reality, the interaction with the executive would be one she would never forget, and not for the better of reasons. Like all the other young of the world, this one seemingly underestimated her capabilities outside of the body that contained her; if the executive would cross her in the real world as she did with her willingness to abandon, she would be sure to plan a way to create a garland of her teeth and hair.[break][break]

The wretched dreams of tearing at her were distracted by the burning city, alongside the invisible walls inside the gym's interior they had now found themselves within. It was strange, being threatened by a younger, refined man of clear, criminal intent; why would he wish to harm those who were members of Team Rocket, one of the largest criminal networks in the world? She was unaware of his prominence in the organization, his kingly chesspiece, simply due to working with his underbosses instead. She wanted to prove his words false, but the invisible walls were enough to block even the ghastly Flutter Mane from tumbling through.[break][break]

"How obnoxious," she said, directed toward both Xenon's words and his strange cowardice, though promptly following in the steps her companion would take. "Lead the way, young one." A quick snip of the boss's weaponry cut at the paradox pokemon with a lunge, causing it to seethe in agony. If this was in the real world, surely she would have sent her Golurk to level the place from the outside in. But there was fun in the artificial sense, the outlandishness.

The battle with Declan is just as prolonged and annoying as it was the last time, even with prior knowledge of what his moves would be she still sustains injury just from how damn fast he is. When time is finally up both she and her beloved Rhodium are covered in cuts and dents respectively, minor cosmetic injuries for the most part, but something that could snowball if the next portion of the simulation proved especially dangerous. The only fortune that Xenon and Marilyn could count in this moment was that the unflinching boss of Rocket had focused his attention on Xenon primarily since the old hag was only following her, meaning that Marilyn would be going into whatever came next entirely fresh.

"Yeah, he's just as annoying as ever. I haven't met him in the "real world" yet, but I imagine I might feel some bit of irritation when I look him in the eye for the first time after all the times I've lost to this bastard in here." Maybe it was rude to speak ill of her boss, but she quite honestly didn't give a fuck. Next time she came in here she would be sure to plaster this bastard's brains across the stupid invisible walls.

Following in her younger counterpart's footsteps, Marilyn giggled as she hopped around attempting to dodge attacks left and right, unshackled by the confines of her aged body like she was in the ordinary world. It felt liberating to move around this much, adrenaline numbing the slashes and bruising that formed on her sagging skin; though, she was almost completely unscathed compared to Xenon, a relieving yet ultimately just feat. The battle went and eventually, the two were spared as he made an eye-roll-causing speech about Team Rocket. But why did he have to make that speech, when in the end, most of Team Rocket's lackeys had no wish in stopping their organization from flourishing? The granny at least assumed that were to be true, though she lacked opportunities to truly know.[break][break]

As for her, she had absolutely no plans of bringing more power into the roots of the rocket tree; she wanted to snag some for herself, naturally, but all would be brought as she left more imprints in the world she never thought she'd be able to see again. "I don't blame you after all of that horseshit, dear. I just hope he has more sense outside of the stim.. simulation, yes! All these fancy words, bah," she smiled, catching a glimpse of an ethereal rift just like the one that led them here, ".. an egress, damn, none of this mumbo jumbo makes sense to me. I'm going to step through it, come come."[break][break]

Nearing the rift to the next stage, she motioned to both her paradox and the ultramodernist to follow, bringing the scenery to rapidly shift. Despite her lack of being in the know with technology, the simulation had its perks in its sea of odd cons.

The storm clouds stop before your ship. From the cumulous cover, a THERIAN THUNDURUS emerges with crackling lightning coursing from its knotted tail. What does it want? It does not look pleased.

Once more they step through the breach and into a new world, the finale to this simulated performance arriving as they open their eyes to the world's most violent storm. Thunder thooms and lightning cracks in the sky above, rain pounds down against the gnarled wood of the deck as Xenon raises a hand to her eyes and squints up at the stormy sky. A shape whips through the cloud cover with every crash of lightning, a thunder god roars as it hurls a javelin of light down to the sea with all of its infinite hate.

Xenon is not fit for battle, and the old woman who accompanies her is not strong enough to take on a monster of Legend with only this bit of dead weight dragging her down. "I don't suppose you know how to satisfy an angry thunder god?" Xenon asks quietly as she looks around their ship, trying to figure out through context clues why exactly they were in such hot water immediately upon awakening. All signs point to the wet treasure chest chained to the main mast, what might be inside was beyond her reasoning, but it was the only shot they had.
